Pentaxim Vaccine
Uses of Pentaxim Vaccine
- Protect the child against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus influenzae type B infections.
Product Description
Introduction to Pentaxim Vaccine
The Pentaxim vaccine contains an acellular or inactivated diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus type b conjugate as an active component. It is a vaccine that helps protect your child against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus influenzae type B infections. It can give protection to children from the age of 2 months, or it can be administered based on the recommended immunization schedule/guidelines provided by healthcare professionals.
The Pentaxim vaccine does not protect against infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae types other than type b, nor does it protect against meningitis caused by other organisms. Consult your doctor if your child is allergic to vaccines or its components. Inform your doctor if your child has a fever or any other health issues or blood clot problems prior to vaccination. It can be administered simultaneously with the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine or with any other hepatitis B (recombinant) vaccination but in different sites. Inform your doctor if your child is a premature baby; it may cause breathing difficulty for 2-3 days in them.
Therapeutic Effects of Pentaxim Vaccine
Pentaxim vaccines work by introducing an acellular or inactivated form of the microbes into the body. These acellular or inactivated strains stimulate the immune system to produce protective antibodies without causing the disease. If a vaccinated individual is later exposed to the infection, their immune system recognizes the microbes and fights against it.
Interaction of Pentaxim Vaccine with other drugs
Inform the doctor about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with the Pentaxim vaccine, reducing effectiveness and causing undesirable side effects.
