Recagon 50 IU Injection contains the active compound follitropin beta. It belongs to the class of medications called gonadotropins (hormones that regulate the function of reproductive organs).

It is indicated to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating   and is also used in medically assisted reproduction programs such as in vitro fertilisation/embryo transfer (IVF/ET). It also helps males with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism  .

It is not recommended to take this medication if you are allergic to the active substance follitropin beta and its components. Women who are pregnant or experiencing heavy or irregular vaginal bleeding are recommended not to use this medication.

Treatment with gonadotropins may raise the chance of developing thrombosis or blood clots. Before starting treatment, consult your doctor if you or your family has a history of thrombosis or if you are significantly overweight.
