Introduction to Evercon 0.5mg Tablet

Evercon 0.5 mg tablet is an antineoplastic drug belonging to the class of mTOR inhibitors, containing the active ingredient everolimus. It is used to treat advanced breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, and also in the treatment of subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (tumours are found in the ventricles of the brain). Good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups is important during the treatment since this medicine can cause sores or ulcers in the mouth. It is often combined with cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent, to treat subependymal giant cell astrocytoma.

Before taking this medicine, it is necessary to know that your risk of getting bacterial or viral infection increases with this treatment. If you have been infected with Hepatitis B, Evercon 0.5 mg  tablet increases the chances of reinfection. Tell your healthcare provider if you experience fever, chills, cough, yellowing of skin, joint pain or swelling during this treatment. You must limit your exposure to sunlight and UV light by wearing protective clothing and applying sunscreen frequently, as this medicine may increase the risk of developing cancers. Avoid taking grapefruit juice or grapefruit while taking this medicine.

Evercon 0.5 mg tablets are not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, chest pain or worsening cough. During the treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your white blood cell counts, platelets, blood sugar, electrolytes and kidney parameters to prevent serious complications. This medicine has the potential to cause kidney problems.
